We recommend that you neutralise or zero your UNAVOIDABLE carbon emissions with carbon credits. These can be sourced from energy efficiency, investments in renewable energy or tree planting. This can be done for individuals or large organisations. After reducing your output of carbon as much as possible using reductions and improved technologies (‘Bring It Down’ page), it is often difficult to reduce car and air travel to nothing. Most of us are not going to rush out and buy a hybrid just yet, if you do fab! OR are we going to ask Richard Branson to run his Virgin jets on ‘fish and chip shop oil’. I don’t think so. However I’m sure he’s thinking about it!
You can then buy carbon credits to offset this usage. Individuals are not accountable at this stage but if you want to be responsible you can. If Australia decides to get with the program (Kyoto) then heavy emitters should be accountable first. Individuals and companies are becoming carbon neutral of their own accord.

ZYC is a carbon neutral business as the electricity is from 100% new renewable energy and the unavoidable emissions from car, air travel and embodied emissions in office equipment have been offset by the purchase of carbon credits. Our other green cred. is:

2. Natural lighting and ventilation in office.
3. Equipment turned off when not in use.
4. Recycling and composting.
5. Car use reduced as much as possible, telecommunications increased.
6. Remaining car and air travel offset.
ZYC has been certified by The Carbon Reduction Institute. Carbon credits are issued by the New South Wales Greenhouse Abatement Scheme (GGAS). This is globally supported and NGO backed by The Gold Standard.
Energy efficiency projects: The Carbon Reduction Institute (NoCO2) source carbon credits from energy efficiency projects to certify businesses who wish to become carbon neutral.
